David-and-Goliath-2.jpg
See the problem with a lie is that you just don’t hurt yourself and the other person it has potential to harm double that. It starts to trickle down the individual telephone line and becomes something that you no longer recognize. That is the problem with a lie, and it starts out small then by the time it gets back around to the person it was about it has about ten more lies attached and formed into a 9 foot Goliath to tear down someone else. Well, we all know how it turned out for David. The point is when a lie comes taunting you, first know that we don’t wrestle flesh and blood but, Satan. Second, aim the Word of God straight at the head of that giant lie and watch how easy the head is destroyed and without a head, it can not live. Before we start, I want to remind you of what James says about the mouth.
James 3:5-6
In the same way, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it boasts of great things. Consider how small a spark sets a great forest on fire. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of wickedness among the parts of the body. It pollutes the whole person, sets the course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
First, God’s protection and promise
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Second, aim for that head and throw that truth right at em! We know where lies stem from
John 8:44
44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Thirdly, stand up in your identity in Christ Jesus which has renewed your mind, heart, and soul through the Word of God! Reaffirm the standard of God not for Him but, to remind you who you are in Christ Jesus! Which we need to do every day; put on the full Armor of God every day!
Colossians 3:9
9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices
Finally, pray for yourself and ask God to keep your tongue being deceitful this reminds me of Psalm 120:2-3
2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue. 3 What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, You deceitful tongue?
