In case you did not know it, you are stunningly beautiful and doing a fabulous job. You, wake up, jump into action every day. No matter what sickness, mess, or strain is awaiting you. You rise up to meet the day and the challenges it holds.
As I am thinking how to express my thoughts about what a mother is, what more importantly comes to my mind is how being a mother changed us. We all come from different stories so I want to be mindful of that. Here is what I want to truly say:
You are doing a good job!
No matter where you find yourself, no matter how loud your teenager’s mouth is, No matter how rebellious or mischievous your toddlers are being.
You are doing a good job!
God knows the trauma of the Momma’s heart that has lost a baby or babies. God, handpicked you for your children, even the babies that left your arms straight to Jesus’ minutes after being born. God, handpicked you for the baby that would not be carried to full- term. God picked you to love the child who you lost in this life. I don’t know why’s to all of these things, but I know that God picked you as a mother for a purpose. I can only guess, but, your love must be phenomenal to be entrusted with such a precious soul. I know down deep, only God knows. So even if your hands are empty Momma, your heart is filled with love and treasures of a child that has passed.
You are doing a good job!
God knows the anguish of a single Momma’s heart. I see you, and I sit next to you in church pews. I see the prayer’s you throw up to God in distress. Feeling like all the weight of the world is carried on your back. I see your burden and often admire your strength and resilience. So even if your heart is heavy laden and overwhelmed, your hands lifted high still praise God.
You are doing a good job!
God knows the broken heart of the motherless Momma’s heart. Maybe you didn’t have an example to follow along the dotted lines. Perhaps, your Mother is in heaven, and you feel that void. Regardless, you are remaining faithful to motherhood without that support only a Mother can give. How you long for your mother, but you still provide unselfishly and steadfast to your children. You might have what the world would say a disadvantage, but your heart pours out mercy, grace, and love through it all.
You are doing a great job!
God knows the anxious heart of the woman who longs to be a Mother. He knows you would do anything to hold a baby in your arms. God sees your struggle and has whispered in your ear. I don’t know what will happen on your journey, but He does. Whether it be through your womb or another’s you are going to be such an awesome Mommy! Hold tight to Jesus and don’t give up faith. By faith, it might not be pretty, it might not be how you planned it, but by faith all things are possible. Even though your womb is empty, your heart is filled with the firm conviction that God is faithful and hears your cries. God honors your confidence and is so pleased with you.
You are doing a great job!
God knows the exhausted heart of the Mother of a special needs child. The heart of a Mother who prays for healing, but decides the actual healing is the blessing and the honor to love a soul that is so pure. All the doctors, specialist, and therapy. All the toting and doting the caregiving you display every day without a thought or care, just pure love. You never waiver, you never take a break. You remain, just like the Lord, in His image of Christ. Even though your child doesn’t look like, or talk like, or walk like everyone else your heart and hands are full of compassion and the gift of caring.
You are doing a great job!
Whatever kind of Mom or struggle you are in, you are doing your best. Your best is all you can bring, leave the rest in His hands and watch what He does. I am so blessed by Mother’s, and I pray for you to have a blessed Mother’s day even though life is not perfect. We are all struggling in some way with something. I love Mom’s and pray this blessed your heart. Hold your head up high and know that God knows the Mother’s heart and just in case no one has told you lately no matter how you’re a Mom, YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB!
Saying a prayer for you with love and compassion in my heart, from one Mom to another, here my babies, this is an old pic of us, but truly my favorite. Enjoy your day and know that you are honored and cherished.
Pain changes all of us, at some point we all experience it. No matter how much we try to out run it, hide from it, or even walk into it. It finds us…
Here is three points I think our pain serves us instead of devouring us:
I. Your Pain Is Proof
The proof is in the pudding! The pain you have experienced in your life is proof that there is a war! It is proof that no matter what is or was thrown at you, God will sustain you. Think about it? If you look back on to some of your fiercest battles in life, you should be destroyed? Right? Some of us have walked through abuse, some addiction, some cancer, some disorder and destruction, some horrible financial crisis that should have brought bankruptcy. My point is that it should and very well could have taken you out, BUT… you are reading this? You are proof, that no matter what came. God sustained you; that doesn’t mean that you were correct, or prayed perfect prayers. It proves that it rains on the just and the unjust, but God is the same in the past, present, and future. You are a walking, talking testament that no matter how hard it rains, you remain because He is faithful!
18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
19For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope
21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.
24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?
25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
II.)Your Pain Has Purpose
Your pain is not in vain! The uniqueness of your pain is so that your pain could provide comfort to someone else. Think about it, how many times have you went through something so painful that you thought I am not going to come out of this! Only six months after the pain you are sitting next to a beautiful soul going through exactly the same thing! If you will choose to see your pain in a different way, God will send you people to comfort and pray for. Your pain has a purpose, it isn’t a coincidence what you have been through. God let the pain happen for a purpose. God saw way down the line, He saw you! He knew that diagnoses was cancer, He knew that your pregnancy would not carry to full term, He knew that job was going to end and leave you with a pile of debt. Here is the amazing thing, He knows, He doesn’t stop it, He purposes our pain to provide for one another. If you think about it for a second it is actually a smack to the enemies face. The enemy will use people and places for inflicting pain, but God uses pain to provide a way for the gospel. Think about the gospel story, Jesus, fully God and man. Chooses to be born of a virgin, in swaddling clothes. He grows up, only to be highly persecuted by his own community, schemed against, gossiped about, run out of town, threatened to be thrown off cliffs, Invited to suppers only to be mocked even more. Nothing Jesus endured on this earth was without pain. Then you have injustice, a mock trial, trumped-up crowds screaming crucify! Beaten, and killed on a cross. Humiliated and shamed as He hung there. Even after His death the mockery still ensued. Put in a borrowed tomb. Sounds to me like a whole life of pain, but look at what God did with His own son’s pain? He saved the world!
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
1 Peter 2:21 ESV
If we are in Christ we are called to pain for a purpose, that is to use the pain of this life to testify to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Don’t think your pain was all in vain, it wasn’t, it was meant to glorify God.
III.) Your Pain is Preparation
The painful things that come in this life have will, or are making way for you to handle the next hurdle. Look back on things that you have been through in the past. I can remember a time where I was dealing with two harrowing things at the same time. I remember dealing with the death of my best friend, and that same afternoon I walked in from the funeral my husband looked at me and said well: ” They decided to shut down the mill indefinitely.” What was incredibly painful was not just the loss, but the months that led up to the failure! We fought so hard! Fought hard for Chris’s job to be saved on our knees and get her help! We stayed camped out in ICU rooms and the endless tests and procedures, medications, only to bury her at thirty-three years old. Then to come home to more loss, but you want to know the good news, I am standing here four years later, and I can see that God purposed my pain. He allowed us to go through the pain to help people that are dealing with total financial loss, He has allowed me to hold the hands of families living with addicts; He has allowed me to love on those families knowing the sting of their pain: the endless prayers, the tear-filled pillows, and bible pages. To give them comfort even when the ending is bitter and hard to swallow, not every story ends happily ever after and I have learned to rest in that — knowing that the pain I face today is prepping me for my purpose in Christ. Making room for my gifts and talents to glorify Him. Looking back there are so many stories of excruciating things I have personally walked through, but just glancing back long enough to see God’s hand prepping me for where I am standing today. He has done the same for you and in the hidden place is working all things out.
“Your pain is not a death sentence its a resurrection story.”
You are Lazarus, Jesus’ dear friend, who he weeps for, but calls forth out of the grave into life and life abundantly in Him. God does not take pain lightly, He identifies with it and purposes it for the furthering of the kingdom. Will you let Him use all your pieces? Even the broken ones?
God is really good at using the most painful things…
20 Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe – people and things, animals and atoms – get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross. 21 You yourselves are a case study of what he does. At one time you all had your backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts of him, giving him trouble every chance you got.22 But now, by giving himself completely at the Cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God’s side and put your lives together, whole and holy in his presence. 23 You don’t walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted. There is no other Message – just this one. Every creature under heaven gets this same Message. I, Paul, am a messenger of this Message. 24 I want you to know how glad I am that it’s me sitting here in this jail and not you. There’s a lot of suffering to be entered into in this world – the kind of suffering Christ takes on. I welcome the chance to take my share in the church’s part of that suffering.25 When I became a servant in this church, I experienced this suffering as a sheer gift, God’s way of helping me serve you, laying out the whole truth. 26 This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. 27 God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery, in a nutshell, is just this: Christ is in you, therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple. That is the substance of our Message. 28 We preach Christ, warning people not to add to the Message. We teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity. To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less. 29 That’s what I’m working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me.
Funny to me how so often the very thing we reject is often what God uses to bring light to a situation.
For example in Mattew 13:54-58
They couldn’t see past the person of Jesus, to see that God the Father chose to use the simplest things of this world to confound the wise. Laid out right before them, yet they failed to believe. Because of that unbelief, they rejected salvation and missed Jesus Christ.
For example in Luke 7:18-25 Jesus himself gives the seal of approval upon John the Baptist, but in verse 33 states clearly, they said He has a demon! In My Bible, the title of the scripture is fitting “An Unresponsive Generation.”
There are so many more stories of Jesus and rejection, I have even read multiple outcomes that come from rejection. All are fascinating to me, really!
But quite often the rejection of Jesus follows with Jesus leaving or moving that particular person away from the unbelief. His presence gone, not because He wanted to, but because He won’t force us to receive Him.
Here is my thought on what is the real tragedy of unbelief and what it reaps in our lives. It naturally divides and leaves a hole the size of Texas in its wake. Now everyone agrees the enemy is the accurate divider, but sometimes rejection of Jesus and unbelief draw a boundary, a wall so to speak that God won’t break through until you simply believe in Him. No one can force you too, God can send so many gifted teachers, preachers your way but until you are ready to surrender to simply believing Jesus; nothing will change.
The definition of insanity is:
Definition of insanity 1 dated: a severely disordered state of mind usually occurring as a specific disorder 2 law: unsoundness of mind or lack of the ability to understand that prevents one from having the mental capacity required by law to enter into a particular relationship, status, or transaction or that releases one from criminal or civil responsibility 3a: extreme folly or unreasonableness the insanity of violence His comments were pure insanity. b: something utterly foolish or unreasonable
You see the second part of that definition? The Lack of the ability to understand…??? The lack of having capacity??? Those spoke to me because I think our faith walk sometimes requires the capacity and the understanding of Jesus, to believe God at His word, even when it looks like there is no way!
Here is the thing for any Christian anything but Jesus should look insane! I found myself reading these stories in scripture thinking that is insane??? Why couldn’t they see Jesus! He was right there!! Giving them all the clues and indicators but they rejected Him because they could not perceive that God could be using something so ordinary to unlock a miracle in our lives, a powerful work. To me, that was the definition of insanity! Extreme folly or unreasonableness. In Luke 4:16 might I add to expound on Matthew 13: 54-58 was Jesus second time go around with them. They rejected Him the first time, and it led to insanity…They wanted to throw Jesus off a cliff! Driven to the insanity of violence! But Jesus being Jesus came back around, and the people still missed it, because of the folly of their unbelief.
Here is my question, what is God coming to us over and over with? What problem, sin, relationship, debt…Keeps coming up because it is unresolved and because we have just failed to see or believe that God can do a mighty work and miracle in our lives. We just have to take Him as Jesus, we just have to take Him at His word. That is not insanity that is faith <3
Lord, help us with our unbelief, help us to see you even when it is dark, and we feel alone. Help us, to be full of faith and trust you. Even when the step is unknown. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
This past weekend my husband a I decided to take our three boys to the Ark Encounter. So we got a hotel room booked and took off in a mad dash toward northern Ky!
We live around the Paducah, Ky area so it was around a five hour drive. We arrived at hotel and I could tell the kids were excited and were fairly talkative for teenagers. We soon fell asleep and woke up and heading toward our adventure. I will tell you, it really is in the middle of nothing, but it is a gorgeous, hilly area! We parked, got our tickets, and before we knew it we were on a bus that takes you up the huge hill to the ark! We got off and let me tell you the size of the ark was amazing! Even three teenagers were really awe struck! We took our pics and walked up to the entrance. I seriously felt God stirring my heart, as we approached the bow, we could not believe how massive the ark was. I immediately asked God :
” Lord, this work was truly the work of your hands, Noah, was just your hands and feet.” I heard God speak to my heart and say ” There was room.”
Me not understanding at that moment went on, as we entered I thought to myself…
How many prayers that must have been said? In building this ark and the real ark?
How much faith must have taken for Noah to trust God truly?
How difficult it truly is to have faith at times, how many times did Noah wonder if He was crazy?
I couldn’t help relate that to my life, I see what Noah was called too and I see how big things resulted from his continued obedience. Small steps, Big steps, and in-between steps. The steps that Noah must have stumbled upon, and steps that left him possibly scratching his head. Nevertheless, they were steps of faith. Just simply believing God and believing His word.
Until you have seen what this simple man and his family were called to, you can not fathom it. The ark is so large that you without a doubt you know that God, Himself, could only have planned it. Every detail, every single thing was thought of with tender and careful love. To prepare a place for us all.
The same thing for you and me, what we are called to can only be accomplished by God alone. We are just the hands and feet of what He is doing in the earth. Our job is to receive instruction and follow through with the steps. Oh! That sounds so simple when I write it out, but how hard it is at times when I am walking it out. I struggle with holding or keeping the faith! Especially when I am just overwhelmed by what God is asking!
As I walk through and I see the handiwork of God, I hear that still, small voice say again, ” There was room.” I simply just listened, but not putting it together.
We get finished at the first level, and there is a place where a short movie is being played. I literary said to myself, ” Lord, there is so much room and space, even with all the animals being kept there is so much wasted space???”
I sat down on a bench with my kiddo’s and we watched a video, I looked around again and thought….
“Lord! There is so much room???? Why??? Why didn’t the people listen and get on the ark?”
and right there in the middle of a crowd of people God said to me,
” There was room for all of them, they had a place, they had a purpose, but they had a choice in it all, I made provision for them in hoping they would choose me.”
And the light-bulb went off in my mind and my heart. The people missed God’s plan and purpose for them because they thought it was crazy! They thought Noah went insane, but what they didn’t realize that God was all along trying to save them. God still faithfully provided for them, but because of their choice to not believe God, they perished. But, God! Faithful and True made room even for their rejection, my goodness, that is how much He loves. He would call a man to make a vessel for people who would never choose Him.
We are right in the middle of Holy Week, and I began to think of how the Jew’s did the same thing, they missed God, because they did not think he would come as a lamb because they wanted a mighty lion! How they missed Yeshua because He came for the least of these. How many people in our world think Jesus is a myth! How many won’t be in heaven because just like the people in Noah’s day thought Noah was a fruitcake! It hit me in so many ways this week that even if what God has asked of us to do never leads to one person, believing and trusting in Jesus, it is not in vain. God used Noah and not one soul other than His family entered that ark. Think about the heartbreak God and Noah felt like as that door, the way, closed tight. They knew that a choice leads us to life or death. Noah never saw those people again, what agony haunted him, I can’t even imagine. But even greater than Noah was Father God. How grieved He must have been having to close that door. I won’t get into the theology about it, but what I want you to think about today is this simple truth. There was room on the ark for every single person who wanted to live, they just had to believe. The same today, there is room at the supper table of God for you. There is a seat with your name on it, and the Son of God, Jesus Christ, with open arms saying, ” Believe In Me?”
Will you today, believe God?
You can have peace with God by saying this simply prayer to Him
Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Jesus, I am a sinner, I am lost! I believe you died for all of my sin. I believe that you rose again, proclaiming victory and life in you. Jesus, come into my heart, help me know you, change me and guide me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
If you prayed that prayer I want to welcome you into the family of God! I love you, and I pray that God would raise you up mighty in Jesus Name! If you will comment or email me I would be honored to send you a Bible. You can email me @ firstname.lastname@example.org
Righteous are you, O Lord, when I complain to you; yet I would plead my case before you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all who are treacherous thrive? You plant them, and they take root; they grow and produce fruit; you are near in their mouth and far from their heart.
Jeremiah 12:1-2 ESV
Jeremiah is asking the Lord some bold questions here in verses 1-4. Jeremiah has just learned that the men of Anathoth, Jeremiah’s hometown (Jer. 1:1) schemed to have him killed. They ordered him not to prophesy, or he would die by their hands. Just wanted you to understand Jeremiah’s state of mind and how brokenhearted he must have been.
I don’t know about you, but anytime any form of persecution comes whether it’s rejection or the most severe cases giving our life to follow Christ. I believe it still hurts the worst when it comes from your community, friends or family.
It seems that our enemy loves to stir up those in a community against each other. I believe every single snare or pit that is dug for the body is to get us to pick each other apart to the bone. Sometimes we do it innocently, and I have done it. I know we all have. I believe once we know and see it, we can change it, of course through The Holy Spirit.
I suppose I am more tender to it because I am in a calling of my own that the enemy loves to persecute me whenever he gets the chance. That is a part of the territory and believe me the Lord is and has brought this tender-hearted girl long ways. I would do it over and over a thousand times over, because persecution keeps you humble, full of humility, and honest in front of the Lord, in my opinion. I believe that is why in the book of James it says during various trials and tribulations count it as joy! It is refining your faith.
So, Jeremiah is complaining to the Lord why does he allow this to happen! Then he says, Lord! You know me, you have seen me, you have tested my heart toward you (Verse 3).
So he went from complaining to pity party in a matter of seconds! We do the same thing. We feel like everything is wrong, when in fact God is strengthening us. It is okay! It’s our flesh dying! It is not ever going to feel good.
I love verse five which caught my eye because in Hebrew five means grace. How fitting! His grace is sufficient. Here is God’s reply to Jeremiah (Jer. 12:5)
“If you have run with the footman, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? For even your brothers, the house of your father. Even they have dealt treacherously with you; Yes, they called a multitude after you. Do not believe them, Even though they speak smooth words to you.
Last thought, when you are following Jesus, and He has called you to something that even leaves you with your mouth wide open. Don’t be thrown for a loop when the enemy of our souls stirs up persecution. Unfortunately, he will, but down deep in your soul know this. No matter what remember that God is allowing it to happen to purify your faith. He is allowing hard situations to test your heart toward Him; He is strengthening you spiritually so you will be able to run against the horses of our enemy. We are warrior’s, and we have to be cross-trained. Remember that we do not wrestle against people, but we fight against our enemy Satan. Eph. 6
I love spring! I love that all the barrenness of winter is leaving, and new life is waking up. I am not a big fan of winter, but without winter we would not appreciate spring, would we? Most of all I love seeing the growth and the newness of what spring brings!
Sometimes it takes a season of winter or two ( lol ) to see a ” new thing ” come forth. A new way that God wants to do something in and through us. The only way that we will ever perceive a new way is to do a ” new thing”! Even though I perceive it to be mundane, it could be exactly what Isaiah 43:19 says, a stream in the desert to my soul.
Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
God is moving; He was moving when Isaiah wrote this verse; God was moving towards the cross. God has finished the final work through Jesus, but He is still doing new things. Still actively moving in us and on behalf of us. I love how this verse says DO YOU NOT SEE IT? Oh! That question hits me, just like the Jews missed Yeshua (Jesus) our Savior! We can be so caught up in our daily lives, daily rituals, the busyness of life, and miss what God wants for our lives. We can be so caught up in religious activities and good works and miss God if we are not actively reading and dialoguing with Him in the scriptures, we can miss Him and miss the small blessings He brings to us daily.
I think more than ever we are losing something spectacular in our relationships with God. It is dialogue, the word of God is going to deal directly with your heart. It is going to speak to places you thought were dead and barren. God’s word was meant to be opened and we are supposed to ask questions and allow Him to answer us with His word. Ask, and you will receive. Seek Him and you will find Him. Knock and He will answer you! ( Matthew 7:7)
This past weekend I went to a leadership conference. I love how God uses these conferences to fill us up and to speak to us clearly through our leaders inside the church. Plus, let’s be honest just getting away and in a new atmosphere can bring clarity in itself. I suppose that is why I love going so very much. It is about God doing a ” new thing” in me and for me.
He used leaders to directly speak to places of uncertainty with the word of God. Directly into my circumstances! That prompted me to ask God more in-depth questions and to confirm His will through His word to me personally. Guess, what He did!
If I had chose to just shrug off what I heard God speaking and go on my way, I will have missed something God has in store for me. I haven’t always been walking with Christ. I would say seven years total that I have had a real relationship with Jesus. For years I believed, and I accepted Christ, but I never accessed our relationship. I simply didn’t think I had too! I missed those years, but I know now I never have to miss Him again! I have heard the loud critics voice in my ear, saying: ” You are taking that out of context!” “God is not saying that or why would He say that to you.” I don’t have the most exquisite way of saying it, but here is what I have experienced with the word of God and the Holy Spirit. The word of God is God’s very breath, all 66 books, from Genesis to Revelation. I believe and want God’s very breath to breathe in my life every day. The Holy Spirit is the power, wisdom, knowledge and understanding that I must have in order to take God’s breath in. I wish that for everyone, but as a person who lives in reality, I know that some won’t. That does not stop me though!!! I love God’s word, for goodness sake, anyone who knows me has seen my library of commentaries and my resource ” stuff ” I am not writing this to defend myself; I am merely writing this to express what God has shared with me and has helped me so much along the way. So here it goes:
English Standard Version For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 ESV
If we are going to perceive a new thing that God wants to do in us or through us we have to be actively dialoguing with Jesus in and through the scriptures. That means you ask a question and He answers back through the word of God. In the verse above this paragraph, I want you to read that out loud. The word of God is alive, full of God’s spirit, and the word of God divides the lies that life throws us daily. The word of God redirects our motives and our thoughts.
English Standard Version Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2 ESV
The only way that God can transform us is by the renewing of our minds. Sound’s like God is directly saying to us that if we want a new mind He will give it through the scriptures. God radically wants to transform us, but we have to be willing to find it in the word of God.
Do you sense God is wanting to do a ” new thing” in your life?
Are you confused or unsure about it?
What is leading your walk with God?
All three of these questions are easily solved. The answer is to be found in the word of God.
I challenge you this week, ask God a question in your life. A problem that is throwing you for a loop? See, if He will not lead you to the answer! He is faithful! There are amazing conversations to be had with The Lord of the Universe! What are you waiting for…
We need you to rise and take hold of who you are in Christ. We need you! We need your voice; we need your words, we need your personality. We need your hands and feet to proclaim Jesus. We need you to realize who you are in Christ. You are not a mistake, a joke, a failure. You were purposed to be a solution in our world. Your life and the events that have happened were not so you could roll around in ashes, NO, you were created to overcome the ashes for beauty.
You have not been through it all in vain, you have been through it all and have remained. You are still intact not with a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and love and sound judgment. You are not defeated, Get up! Sister
Rise and take hold of what God has put before you. Do not back down now! You are not weak-willed you have been trained and sustained so that you can stand with confidence. You chose to endure when no one saw; you chose Jesus when everything in you wanted to jump ship. You chose the good portion, and it will not be taken away from you, just like Mary at Bethany. At the feet of Jesus trusting and believing, listening and learning. Instead of busyness, you chose Him.
You filled your lanterns with oil, trimming the wick so the flame would not go out. Yes, maybe at times the flame has waned, but it has never gone out. Get up! Sister. There is still more oil to store. There is a wick that needs trimming so the flame can burn bright once again.
Get up! Sister and read your Bible out-loud when the enemy whispers His lies. Fight him with the word of God and he will flee. There is no other way!
Get up! Sister and dismiss the voices of others who do not have any oil for this time. Dismiss the Martha’s who are bitter because they chose to be busy when Jesus was inviting them to sit and learn. We need you, girl! We need you standing full of confidence in Jesus with us; there is plenty of room, we saved you a seat. Take it!
Get up! Sister and find your identity in Christ for yourself. Fill your vessels with oil, the word of God. We need you, we are waiting for you to rise up.
